Buick Enclave vs. Toyota Highlander

The new Buick Enclave has a little more get-up-and-go than the Toyota Highlander. Its V6 engine puts out 310 horsepower, compared to 295 horsepower from the Highlander's powertrain. Additionally, the Enclave's engine pairs with a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. The Highlander comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

People in Scranton who carry a lot of kid's toys, sports gear, or shopping bags in their SUV will appreciate that the Buick Enclave has one of the largest cargo capacities in its class. This includes 23.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 58 cubic feet behind the second row, and 97.6 cubic feet of cargo room behind the front seats. The Toyota Highlander's cargo space maxes out at 84.3 cubic feet.

Buick Enclave vs. Honda Pilot

Once again, the new Buick Enclave has more horsepower. Both SUVs have a V6 engine, but the Enclave's motor produces 310 horsepower compared to just 280 horses from that of the Honda Pilot's powertrain. Eynon drivers will like the soft, silky ride they get on the Enclave's comfort-tuned suspension. The Pilot's suspension treats occupants to a mostly smooth ride, but its ride quality is not quite as refined as the Enclave's.

The new Buick Enclave has a more spacious cabin than the Honda Pilot, with 157.3 cubic feet of interior volume compared to 152.9 cubic feet of passenger room for the Honda. The Pilot has a slightly larger cargo hold than the Enclave with all the back seats folded down. However, when all its rear seats are in use, the Enclave has 23.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, while the Pilot only has 18.5 cubic feet of room behind its rearmost seats.

Buick Enclave vs. Ford Explorer

The new Buick Enclave has a more powerful base engine than the Ford Explorer, delivering 310 horsepower compared to a 300-horsepower output from the Ford's standard motor. The Explorer does offer a more powerful engine, but you must pay more to have it. The new Buick Enclave also beats the Ford Explorer for cargo space. It has 97.6 cubic feet of total cargo space compared to 87.8 cubic feet of maximum cargo room for the Explorer.

The new Buick Enclave has more standard tech features than the Ford Explorer, including the newly standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. People in Archbald will appreciate that the Enclave also comes with wireless device charging to keep their smartphone or I-pad juiced up on long trips. The Explorer does not offer wireless smartphone integration. Wireless device charging is optional, so it comes at an additional cost.
